The Origin of Family Valeria

One of the six original noble Families that survived from the Landing to the founding of the Nation of Ningo; Family Valeria is among the oldest Families of the Ningo, noble or commoner.

Family History

Family Valeria has been part of two dynasties to date; the first of which was the Third Dynasty, also known as the First Valeria Dynasty. This Dynasty lasted through two Patricians; Manlius and Maia, with a total dynastic reign of ten years. Originally Patrician was the name of nobility among the Old Empire, starting with Patrician Octavianus. It became a name popularly used by the uneducated masses for their ruler. In 457, during the reign of Patrician Manlius, the title of Patrician is made the official title of the ruler of the Ningo people. In the year 464 laws concerning multiple spouses are introduced, along with the regulations and limits which apply to them. Adultery laws were updated to reflect multiple marriages, reaching their current legal status. This was done to further improve the chances of having as many healthy children as possible; also it granted more freedom for political marriages. Patrician Manlius reigned from the year 455 to the year 462. Patrician Maia reigned from the year 462 to the year 465. She was the second daughter of Manlius, and holds the record for the shortest reign. She died in childbirth, as she had no children and her siblings had yet to prove worthy of being a noble. This marked the end of the First Valeria Dynasty.

Next was the Eighth Dynasty, also known as the Second Valeria Dynasty. This Dynasty lasted through four Patricians; Constans, Aetius, Felicitas, and Aegidius, with a total dynastic reign of twenty-nine years. Patrician Constans reigned from the year 630 to the year 640. Patrician Aetius reigned from the year 640 to the year 645, and was the eldest son of Contans. He, unfortunately, died before he could marry. Patrician Felicitas reigned from the year 645 to the year 650. He was the younger half-brother of Patrician Aetius. Patrician Aegidius reigned from the year 650 to the year 659. He was the only son of Felicitas and chose his son-in-law as his heir which brought an end to the Second Valeria Dynasty.

The Family

The Patrician Family branch of Family Valeria currently consists of Patrician Aegidius' three surviving children and their children. Also included are Principe Domitianus of Family Valeria and his sister Aeliana of Family Valeria; the children of Aegidius' youngest daughter Agrippina.
The former members of the Patrician Family branch, were Patrician Aegidius of Family Valeria, who died of old age; and Principessa Agrippina of Family Valeria. She was part of this branch until her father's death in the year 659.
Future members of the Patrician Family branch of Family Valeria - With the end of the reign of the Second Valeria Dynasty, no new members of this Family can be born.
