Room Desc: This room is massive, roughly a quarter of the size of the Great hall of the castle. The ceiling is vaulted, around the edges of the room the vault is less pronounced compared to the center of the room. Pillars can be found in the center of the room, helping to support the ceiling above. The pillars are crimson in color with decorative vines winding their way up the pillars with the blooms of roses, lilies, and canary creepers stud the decorative vines in ways to enhance the beauty. The blooms and vines both are covered in gold leif. The ceiling is adorned with decorative patterns around the edges of each slope of the vaults, with a cascade of decorative feathers adorn the arches between the vaults. All of the decorative touches including the feathers are inlaid gold. The floor is white marble like the rest of the castle, though a large collection of various rugs and furs cover the floor. This both covers most of the white and also provides a warm, soft surface to walk upon as opposed to the cold, hard marble underneath. Hanging from the crest of each vault are golden chandeliers with tallow candles. Silken crimson sleeves cover the chains which connect the chandeliers to the ceiling above. Entering from the main hall the first thing one typically sees is a large portrait of Matyas Onimus, the husband of Queen Abegayle Onimus, which is centered on the wall. Surrounding this portrait are other portraits, all in gold frames, of the Queen or her husband, or the two of them together. Opposite the wall of portraits and a few feet from the door to the main hall is a massive bed with an intricately carved headboard and baseboard, covered entirely in gold leif. Running between two of the central pillars as well as between those same pillars and the wall is a golden frame that surrounds the bed, from which hang silken curtains of crimson with a golden trim and also stitched in gold is the sigil of House Onimus itself. To the left of the main entry doors are windows covering the entire wall to let in the light of the sun, and perhaps to enjoy sunrises as well. The windows are framed in gold and panes of the finest glass fills the spaces between. A few plush benches have been arranged by the windows to allow one to sit and enjoy the view. Opposite the windows is a wall with a set of double-doors matching those that lead out into the main hall, crimson in color with decorative golden frames and knobs. This door leads to an antechamber for use by the Queen and her husband only, and is almost always closed. The rest of the room is furnished with end tables, chairs, couches, a desk, and a table as well. All of these are crimson in color with gold trim, accents, or the like.

Many days had passed since the queen had summoned her children. And little word had spread from her chambers, apart from a few rumors among the servants that the queen's health had been particularly worse, particularly exhausted as she had been by the talks with the members of her family. No further summons to visit her were issued. And even most visitors would be sent away. And now, over the last week there had only been silence. No visitors. A rule the healer wanted to uphold by all means.

Jerrick comes to his mother's chambers and sighs softly he needed to see her and if it wasn't so urgent he would not bother her. "I must speak with my mother, I promise it will not tax her. I shall only stay for a few moments and keep my voice low." He assures the healer. "But I must speak with her."

The healer stares at the prince, shaking his head, intent on sending him off right away. "Her majesty is not feeling well," he says, sticking his head out through the door. There is a low murmur behind him, that makes him shoot a glance back into the chamber. Then a sigh, and a nod comes. "As you wish, your majesty." And the healer beckons Jerrick to enter with little enthusiasm. "Just excuse me, if I remain present. But your mother's state can get worse any minute..."

Worse than it already is? Oh dear. Queen Abegayle lies on the bed, much weaker than last Jerrick saw her. Her breathing is labored. Even so, she wills her face to manage a faint smile when tired and pained eyes focus on her son. "Jerrick...", is all she can utter for now. She looks almost like a ghost, with those shadows beneath her eyes, the white almost waxen skin, the frail tremble in her tone.

Jerrick is almost heart broken at the sight of his mother. "Onimoria help us." He whispers coming into her room, he sits as he usual does at the end of the bed and takes her hand. "Mother." He mutters, not wishing to accept that these are her final days. Maybe this conversation should ease his heart. "I need to ask you something, if you can't answer that is fine merely not, or say what you can." He asks her. "Do you remember Zuhur Nuru?" He begins. "She claimed you offered her rule of an island inchange for marrying one of us brothers, if it is true I will accept her. She will be the answer to all my problems. I can stay here, have somewhere to rule and also watch over my sister. Zuhur is young but she has cunning and intelligence and will serve my sister well if she is given permission too. I have been thinking about our conversation ever since I left you....If Zuhur isn't acceptable perhaps Ciera, though I am not as fond of her. Ciera is the heir for now, it would also mean me leaving which I will do if you will it."

It takes a moment for the words to reach the queen, it seems. At least her reaction will come after a few moments. She will inhale first, her head turning to face Jerrick, that hand of hers he holds is weak, almost feeling like it were made of wax. "Princess... Zuhur," she says then, as her eyes regain some of their focus. "Yes. It was... a thought... an idea I had for Nathan, before he turned out so bad...", she admits after a moment. It is clear that speaking uses whatever energy she has left, which obviously is not much. "It is of no consequence...", Abegayle continues after a moment, brows furrowing faintly at Jerrick's reasoning about heirs. "Women... do not inherit in the... Golden Lion. Either... of them has royal blood though and would be a... fitting match, Jerrick. For you, a prince of the Isles."

Jerrick nods his head slowly. "If you give me permission I will travel to the Golden Lion and ask her brother's permission for her hand. I will cement the alliance between us. It would mean I could stay here and marry a strong woman into the family to help Madalyn rule....Which Isle did you offer her?" He asks, his voice sounding hopeful and excited finally a match which would benifit everyone involved.

Again, the queen needs a moment. Her eyes close and she breathes, even though there is a ghost of a smile curling her lips. "Jerrick... we cemented the hundred years' alliance already... through the marriage of Samuela Zorich to... Arif Sefu... but that does not mean... that you cannot marry one of the princesses. I am glad... you come up with this suggestion... As for the isle... the council will have to decide... it will be one of the smaller Isles... and yes... as things are..." She pauses, and a shadow falls over her features. Pondering perhaps some dark matter. "I will worry less about the... future of my kingdom..."

Jerrick sighs with relief, he wanted his mother to feel better about this, did not wish her to pass into the after life worrying and fretting. "I shall travel to the Golden Lion and asks for Zuhur's hand, then I shall bring her back here and we will go from there." He assures her. "I shall watch over your Kingdom mother, I once wished Madalyn far, far away but that will never happen all I can do now is ensure she rules well..." He squeezes her hand. "Fear not mother, I shall watch over them all."

Maybe his announcement of travel brings a bit of unease to Abegayle's features. Or maybe she is just exhausted. "My dear son," she mutters, doing her best to squeeze back the hand of the prince, alas, it is only a weak twitching of her fingers. "Look after Madalyn... I have had reason to doubt her... I'm still... not convinced... she can handle it alone... She'll need you." Air leaves her lungs, the queen's eyes shift from her son towards the ceiling. Exhausted. "My time... is nigh...", she mutters faintly.

Jerrick looks panic for a moment, his eyes darting towards the healer frantic. "Is there nothing you can do." He demands, griefstricken and frantic to have his mother not die this night. "She is your Queen." He takes her hand and places it against his cheek, tears forming in his eyes. "I promise mother, I will help her, we shall rule together, her and I, and one day we will do it alone and I can do as I have always wished and study my numbers and keep us showered in coins."

There is only a faint shake of the head given by the healer. His glance says everything his lack of reply already hints at. "It is the natural turn of things," Abegayle says, her hand weak against his cheeks as he places it there. "I am glad you came to so see me again, Jerrick. With such reassuring news, I can leave. Being at peace. Knowing everything can turn out well... Now... let me rest..." Her gaze shifts towards him, and noting the tears in his eyes she adds: "Don't be sad... It's a heavy burden... the crown of the Isles... And do not envy Madalyn.. for what lies ahead of her..."

Jerrick shakes his head. "I will do nothing but love her mother." He says letting a single tear roll down his cheeks as he speaks once again "Please mother." He begs, slowly sliding from her bed, he walks towards the door opens it without another word and leaves letting it shut silently behind him. He would have let it slam if it wasn't for the woman quietly dying inside...At least he can have Zuhur, that much is clear what happened after that he will just have to wait and see. "Handon." He calls to his personal valet. "Ready the fastest ship with have...I depart for the Golden Lion in two days and make sure they stock plenty of wine. I will need it for the journey." He gives a little shudder, pauses to reflect on what he is about to embark on. The thoughts of traveling by sea fills him with a terror so profound he would have trouble expressing it in words. He must though, Zuhur deserves a proper proposal.
