Its getting late and Ottis is about to close up shop. He's just finished working on a few blades for the local butcher, and is currently grinding them on the wheel to put a nice edge and sharpness to them.
Ottis dips a laddel into a barrel of oil as he pours just a tiny bit onto the Wheel to keep it well lubercated so that he doesn't grind more than he needs off the newly created blades.
Princess Barbeta Brais walks in just at the end of the blacksmith's work. She is with two guards and her exotic handmaiden from the Kingdom of Golden Lion.
Princess waves for her escort to stay beside doors, when she walks closer to the blacksmith, "So, what about my sword and.." She adds in a whisper, "That other thing?"
Ottis turns as the Princess of Brais enters and smiles, though Ottis continues to work on putting the edge on the blade in his hand and says no more until he's finished. Making sure to painfuly keep the edge perfect, and once thats done he wipes it clean with a velvet cloth and places it in a box so that it doesn't get damaged.
OttistThen slides off the small stool he was sitting on and heads over to the shelf, "The Items in Question Princess are here. " as he pulls down Two Ornate box's one definately longer than the other. Each box is a nice red cherry wood polished to a shine. "They are some of the best I've done I do hope you like them. " as Ottis sets the box's down and undoes the latches that secure them so that you might open them and look for yourself.
"Oooh!" The Princess drawls excitedly, and steps closer to the boxes. First of all, she walks closer to the smaller box and opens it slowly. She hides all the view from gazes of her curious guards and handmaidens with her back. The moment she opens the box, Barbeta just freezes and stares inside in silence. It takes some time for her to close the box, "Perfect," she states.
Then she moves to the bigger box, opens it too. "Oh, I really like it. I am sure, that my uncle will be pleased! Now I am sure, Master Ottis, that you are even better than people are talking!"
The young princess closes the otehr box and getsures for her guards to take it. Though, she places her hand on the smaller box, not allowing anyone to take it and turns to Ottis, "How much?"
Ottis grins at the compliment you've bestowed on him and Gives you a price for the sword, granted its a touch higher than you'd pay at most places but then again Ottis is a master smith and its not unreasonable, though what does take the sting out of the prices is when he says. " as for the other blade, concider that one a gift from me to you. As its always nice to do something for a charming young lady. "
Barbeta's eyebrows jump up in surprise. She takes off a small pouch, but filled with coins. She gives the man the sum he asked, but then shakes her head slowly, "I can't take it as a gift. It is said, that a sharp gift is dangerous. So..." She adds a few more coins for the dagger, but a bit less than it is worth. "Thank you. If someone will ever ask me, if I know a good blacksmith, I give you my word, that I will recommend you!" And she offers the man a curtsy and a smile.
The guard of barbeta takes a bigger box, while she grabs that smaller box.
The company leaves and the young princess is smilling as widely, as she didn't do it for quite a long time.
