Biography

Born on 26 October 651 in the Dutchy of Granville. Her father Hans Rainswater was a Lead Farm Laborer for one of the noble's estates. He and his wife Bella and their 8 children had a good life. Nothing spectacular, but between their truck garden, their cow, and the hunting that the forests provided they did not go hungry and any visitor was welcomed at their table. Selia was next to oldest. Her brother older helped on the farms from the time he could work a hoe. Selia helped with the gardens, laundry, cooking, house work, as well as all the other chores required to help run a household. Her mother was a healer and so she learned how to take care of injuries, cuts and bruises etc. It was just not her calling. It did help her to know about certain herbs that could make people sleep or stop their hearts. Although she never expected to use that knowledge. She always had a great memory. It helped to keep track of where something was or who said what. She did not dwell on things she just remembered them in she tried. No one is sure if She can read and write or if she has just memorized words and phrases. She learned to use a blade from her brothers. She has never actually had to stick anyone but she definitely knows how. She is not lost in the woods as she has spent time there with her brothers and father. Surviving on the farm sometimes meant knowing how to survive in the woods. How to set a snare. How to find water. Which plants were edible and which were not.
Selia fell in love with one of the boys who worked the farm with her father and brothers. His name was Hase Hendle. He was tall and handsome. He was a hard worker and Selia liked his mother. They set a date for the celebration.
Then all things changed. It started with no rain. At first it was exciting because of the festivals and religious rites to convince the gods to bring the rain back. When that failed all farm workers and family members were drafted into pail lines to get water to the crops. But there were not enough and the drought was too severe. The crops failed. The wells went dry or so low that the buckets would yield only mud. The woods became dry, animals and birds died by the arms full. Those that survived because hard to come by. The peasants starved. Just as the rains returned they were accompanied by the plague. Life was hard for everyone. Selia's wedding was postponed again and again. Then the family began to get sick. Then one by one her family died. Hase and his family died. The other families died. Few survived. Only a couple of uncles.
Once the plague had taken the souls and the bodies were burned or buried, Selia closed up the house, took her few belongings and headed to the woods to join her uncles. The King announced that the Gods had forsaken them and so they were to forsake their Gods. Her uncles said that the Gods just got tired of trying to get the noble's to change the way they did things. Take care of the land and it will take care of you. Or in the case of the small band of outlaws. The wealthy did not share when the peasantry needed them to. So now they can be made to share what they had on them. Although Selia knew almost form the beginning that they were slated to fail, no one would listen. When two of the younger outlaws were captured and punished severely, it was decided they needed someone on the inside to send word of what was being transported, how many guards, anything that would make it less hazardous to take the booty. Selia was elected and off she went. First a job, then some place to live and then maybe a new life.

Personality and Appearance

She is friendly, will talk to anyone about any thing. She is always watching and listening.
