The Night's Dream has existed prior to Madame Edris taking over some three years ago. Still it has been during these past three years, that the etablissement has risen to a certain fame, regarding to the diversity of offered entertainments. It is almost a proper place, and it does happen that select nobility rents the upper room for private festitivities.
Little is known though about the prorietor of the place. Edris' distinguished manners and tasteful appearance mark her as someone who has experienced the upper class life and education. Some whisper she has been abroad as a young girl, either in the Kingdom of the Golden Lion, or even in the Kingdom of Two Rivers, where she was the mistress of some high ranking noble. Her speech does not show any accent however, but that of the educated inhabitant of the Isles.
Demanding the respect of those who work at the Night's Dream, she has been firm but fair, and never ever would tolerate any of her staff being mistreated by a customer.
Due to recent dabblings with one of the princes of the Isles, Edris has been relieved from her post as Madame and spends her time as a 'guest' at the Castle of the White Dove. Until her child will be born. After that... who knows what will happen?

Despite being a commoner of illegitimate birth, Edris saw the light of day in the Castle of the White Dove in Deavel. A daughter of a handmaiden in service of one of the ladies-in-waiting to the Queen, and one flirty distant relative of the Ruler of the Isles.
Her father was never openly acknowledged, yet Edris was allowed to grow up within the shelter of the castle walls. And yes, she was among those allowed to play with the young princess Jaquetta, younger sister of Abegayle Onimus, who would later become Queen. Their acquaintance goes back to when she was five. As Eris grew up, her comely features as well as her sharp mind caught the interest of the Master of Whispers. She was recruited at the age of sixteen, and started her training in the skills needed for a Whisperer, such as enticing, deception, perception and stealth. Another development came quite handy, as a certain noble spotted her. It was a relative of the royal leader, Mikhail Grunhaid, the son of Abegayle's brother who spent many years at the Castle. He claimed her for himself as companion and mistress, briefly after her 17th birthday, offering tutelage in many areas that distinguish the refined lady from plain commoners in exchange for her favours. This more because of a bet, which he won in the end, in the year 663.
It seems Mikhail lost interest after that and so she was offered as a sign of good will to Rasil, heir to House Imamu, an emissary of the Kingdom of the Golden Lion. At least that was how it looked like. In fact it was the Master of Whispers who decided to send Edris off to the Golden Lion, to gather intelligence there. The opportunity proved too tempting to miss, even if she had not completed her training yet. Edris arrived in the lands of Imamu in the year of 664. Her fiery hair and pale skin made her quite an exotic beauty in the land of the sandy wastes. For a span of six months she became Rasil's mistress, before his father forced him to end the liaison. Some murmur she was gaining too much influence over the heir, others say his father wanted Rasil to take a proper wife.
Edris was passed on to a minor vassal, Hassan Alleel, no coincidence really, as he happened to be a Whisperer of the Isles. He taught her more, her training would include the customs of the Golden Lion, some bits of the Golden Lion language, which she would never acknowledge openly to have mastered, and a bit of self-defense and the use of daggers. Two more years of training were added to those she had already mastered.
In 668 Rasil Imamu died. In the last two years he had visited her sporadically, knowing his father would not approve. And although some may whisper there had been some improprieties, that was clearly not the case, as they only had been talking. His death left Edris in grief, and, on a more professional level, without a task, and so a new target was picked for her.
In 669, she accompanied Hassan Alleel to Selafuh when the Shaykh sent him there with a letter. It would be very likely that she would cross Arif's way there, and given Arif's reputation it would be easy to catch his interest. The ploy worked out well, Hassan Alleel lost her to Arif Sefu in a fight with sabers, and so the Nawaab claimed her and made her a permanent guest in his palace. She hardly speaks about the two years she spent at Selafuh nowadays. Things started out well enough, but when she was able to flee by early 671, with a delegation of the Isles that visited, she brought a permanent reminder of her time in Selafuh back home.
It is through Edris that Queen Abegayle learned of Arif Sefu's cruelty. She was questioned by the Master of whispers and her account of the Sefu heir as well as the marks on her back, traces of various whippings, reminders of her time at Selafuh till this day, have done their share to bring the news of his cruelty to the Kingdom of the Isles.
Six months after her return it was decided she would become a journeyman whisperer, despite not having been in constant training for 10 years, as required. Technically she has had seven years of training plus five years of serving 'in the field'. When the former Madame of a renowned brothel in Steelea died in 672 without leaving a successor, Edris was appointed as the next Chief Whisperer by the Master of Whispers, because of her experience and her beauty. So until recently she has been the Madame running the Night's Dream and serving the Master of Whispers by giving her information she has gathered from the customers of the brothel, via her employees.
Until Edris got involved with Prince Nathan Onimus, and got pregnant with his child, her sporadic visits being observed by a blackmailer who dropped some information to Edris's superior, Lady Adara Zorich. The Mistress of Whispers soon gathered enough evidence to bring the news before the Queen, after which she was ordered to bring Edris to the castle, where she shall live until the royal bastard is born. Her position of leading the brothel has been lost as well as that of chief whisperer, due to the accusation of betrayal and treason.

A certain air surrounds this woman that stands tall at 5'6", her figure comely, yet tastefully dressed. There is that sparkle of mischief in her green eyes, mingled with a touch of class and confidence. Her red locks are arranged with pins into a pleasing hairdo, and only a hint of colour is applied to her features that might still be appear beautiful to some, despite her being already in her early thirties.
Edris is clad in a dress of beige satin that accentuates her impressive curves in a surprisingly tasteful way, the bodice tightly bound of course, with wide skirts that will cover her legs completely. Tiny little beads have been sewn to the hem of the sleeves and the décolleté, and her skirts will rustle like those of the women of high nobility, even if she is most presumably of common descent.
Her voice is smooth and soft usually, her articulation that of an educated woman, her gestures delicate and graceful. This is indeed a woman of sharp wit and intelligence - and surprising candidness at times.
