Aeryn has been gone for several days, about a week. She went off to check on a report of bandits with two guards and hasn't been seen since. Until today. There are a five men strung together with cuts and bruises, some injured tied to each other by ropes at the neck, which also tie off the hands in front of them. They are brought in by the two guards and Aeryn. Their clothes are tattered, and they have cuts all over, one guard's arm in a makeshift sling. Aeryn's outer white coat is stained heavily in blood, left open. Her left arm shakes as she has her longbow drawn with an arrow. Armguards are stained in red, with splotches everywhere. She's filthy, with small cuts all over her face, and her hair is dirty and a mess.

The trio is escorted by guards, and Aeryn’s left arm bleeds a little, fresh blood dripping down her fingers.

Marcus had recently been speaking to the guests of the castle and has been coming around more often as of late due to duties. Though most know him as he is working for the king or at least one of his higher up individuals. So there is no fuss of him been here when Aeryn arrives with the prisoners, her attire noticed and as well as her men. Sure they are escorted by guards, what seems odd now as to why they have not been taken from them, so they can go and tend to their wounds. As she comes closer he looks over the bandits a bit and then back to the guards but since he really has no authority here he says nothing to them but he does smile towards Aeryn, bowing his head in respect of her position. “Lady Aeryn, good day for a hunt it seems. I am most disappointed that I was not invited but alas, it was your choice." this of course really ain't the time to tease or even speak to the woman but he seems not to care, he is but a common man.

Aeryn turns towards Marcus as he speaks, pointing the readied arrow right at him. "Stay back!" she hisses. As she turns it's apparent she's been choked, her neck is red and with marks. "We have been awake for a week, and are hallucinating." She then switches to the back prisoner "Did yae' move you murderin' bastard? Did yae?" Kicking the man from behind her left hand has even more wobble to it, probably sprained but she's using it anyway. "We've stayed awake by cutting ourselves and putting salt in the wounds. Are you real Marcus? Are yae' really 'ere?"

Marcus seen that the bow is turned in his direction had already moved his hand towards the back, under his cloak, just encase. As she speaks to him he does raise a brow and continues to smile. " Lady Aeryn, you have done your job, let the other guards here lighten your burden." then as he speaks he switches to Ningo. " I am aware of hallucinations but they are either nightmares or loved ones you wish to see or desire to see...now ask yourself, what I am to you?"

Aeryn drops down to her knees, easing the bow down and dropping the arrow slowly. She breathes heavily a few times, her blue eyes looking up towards Marcus. The other two guards are relieved, as more guards come to take possession of the prisoners. "I'm having difficulty with what's real and what is not. These men are bandits..They killed two families, and we stopped them from killing a third. We were outnumbered, and if we slept they would overpower us. They came very close a few times... We wouldn't have made it, if it hadn't been for some villagers that came to our aid. We killed one that tried to overpower us. Who tried to kill me. You have to make sure they are processed. You have to make sure they pay for what they've done!"

Marcus looks at Aeryn as she seems to calm down a bit, more like she has come to her senses at least for the moment. He notices the other guards and is glad this has come to an end, at least for them. As Aeryn mentions they need to be processed he looks to the guards and the one in charge. “You heard the Lady Aeryn, take them away, make sure they understand what they have done, any way possible and then they will be judged for their crimes." his voice ain't loud but there is an edge to it, like he means business. He looks at the other two guards she had come with then. “Go on, clean yourselves up, rest, eat and if you have families do go to them, good job." is all he says to them. All this time he is slowly moving up to her and once he is right there he looks to her, extending his hand out for her to take. “Come Lady Aeryn, let us clean you up, give you something to eat and look after your wounds. Your King would not be liking the way you look now and Princess Luanda would be mighty upset as well." now his voice more soft spoken as he speaks to her. Then in Ningo. " Even the Ningo understand exhaustion, rest and to eat, they know how to survive and amazingly they keep themselves clean as well." now he waits, patiently.

Aeryn is in rather bad shape. "We should kill them now sae' they don't kill anyone else. They will try to kill you..so many of them to watch..there were more than I expected. I put myself and my men at risk. I'm at fault for deaths." She struggles a little to stand, and decides to rest in place for a little while more.

There are plenty of guards and more arrive as needed. They know what to do, just because they are guards, they are able to work well together, specialy at a castle. Marcus shakes his head then. " Oh no Lady Aeryn, if you wanted to kill them, you should have done it where you found them, less of a burden and you would not have to see them again." oh yes, he said it there and then, for all to hear. Marcus ain't a nice guy, he knows what would be better or when it should be done. “As for doing it here and now, not a good idea...unless they decide to try to escape." as he looks to the criminals and smiles.

“Would any of you like to escape now? Save us food and space. No?" as he waits a moment and then he shakes his head, motioning for the guards to take them away. He bends down to a crouch and then whispers to Aeryn. “When I used to hunt men, I did it alone, less of a burden and no one got hurt because of my doings then. Next you hunt, I will go with you but for now, your safe, your men are safe and you have captured them, justice will be dealt." Now he extends a hand out to her, right where she can see it, still he waits. “Plus you need to learn more Ningo."

Aeryn takes the hand, and pulls up to grasp the whole arm and get herself back up. "There were 16 of them. I never expected sae' many. One o' them was a bear o' a man. Ah' kicked him, bit, scratched, and couldn't get him off o' mae' neck..Ah' couldn' get air.." She at least gets her feet back under her, ready to hobble off to wherever Slider might take her.

Marcus's focus is on her and on how she looks and what sort of injuries she has suffered. Yet as she grasps his arm he smiles and helps her up how he can, yes he does steady her with his other hand, just encase she neds it. "Many are not that easy to take down, you and your men did well. As for the bear of a man, he ain't around, good to know or I would have got real personal with him." oh there is a edge to his words. Though there may be a edge to them, he still smiles, something he really does not give up doing. " Now, first thing is to take care of you, let us go see the healers. I would do it myself but it be best of a proper one was available. In the wilderness, you have no choice in the manner." Slider would stay by her side, even as she eats and eventually would go to sleep. He would not stay in the room but he would make sure she has servants and others ready to attend to her, she has done well for the kingdom, she at least deserves to be pampered for at least a day.
