Where: Solar - Mergorand Castle, Beresgond, Two Rivers
Room Desc: This room is usually very light during the day, as several windows allow the rays of the sun to enter. There is a table with chairs in one corner of the room, allowing for small meals to be taken there, as well as engaging in games of dice and cards. In anther part of the room, in front of a hearth of moderate size is a group of very comfortable wooden chairs, all of which have the coat of arms of House Brais carved into their backs. Here one can often find some noblemen engaged in the casual light conversation about current politics, as well as the occasional group of ladies exchanging the latest gossip whilst practicing their needlework. A door at the side leads out onto a large terrace, where the magnificent view over the Plains of Perescan can be enjoyed. During especially warm days the terrace is a popular gathering place as well, as it has been designed to give the impression of a charming little garden - with plants and flowers in clay pots placed at strategic places, as well as a flower bed to the far side.

Aeryn is wearing a rather new dress. Completely red and cut to her form it has long sleeves and flares out at the waist down and falls to a foot above her feet. On the front right side there is an embroidered 'Aeryn The Red'. A black scarf is slung around her neck, and brown knee-high boots peek out from under the dress.

Moving into the Solar she puts the little wolf cub down in the pillowed area, and she crawls around in the pillows somewhat playful. She's asked his highness to seek her out if he had a few minutes as she had an idea.

His Majesty will arrive, as Aeryn appears to have been lucky enough, that her message reached him in a moment of leisure. Barret enters, bushy brows lifting curiously as he spots the ennobled lady. "Aeryn, what is it? Why are you crawling around there in that unladylike manner?" There may be a hint of reproach in his tone, still amusement seems to prevail for now. Even moreso as he notices the little cub.

Aeryn settles into a sitting position on the pillows "Your highness, you caught mae' just putting Charlotte down." She smiles softly after settling and crosses her legs as she gets into a proper sitting position. "Well..Ah' had a thought. You know..everyone loved th' Queen, we all loved her. And with the new bethrothal..Ah'd like tae' say, if it is something yae' want..and it makes yae' happy, then ah'm for it. People hold onto others in different ways in thier hearts. Some hold onto the memories bitterly. I beleive that Queen Livia would have wanted everyone to move on in a way that was good for them. Ah' beleive that she wouldn't want us to dwell on negativity forever because she was nae' a negative person. So..ah' had an idea that perhaps we could implement in her name, and it mae' be a way to introduce th' new Queen to her people."

Surprise flickers in the king's gaze when Aeryn speaks of his late wife, the Queen Livia Brais, an expression that will soon shift into a more sombre one. "True, everyone loved her," he affirms with a low grumble of a sigh. "She was... an exceptional woman of a kind heart." He lowers his gaze for a moment, which he needs to regain his composure. "What is it, Aeryn? What is this idea...?" The question comes a bit hesitantly over his lips, considering he had a few recent arguments with his younger daughter, which also concerned Livia.

Aeryn nods slowly and reaches over to touch the King's knee softly. "I know, it's difficult. A memory can consume you if you let it, I know this far more than most. QUeen Livia was beautiful, and full of life. She was taken by something that syphoned the life and cheer out of us. The plague. You know many familes have lost just as much as we have, some less, some even more. I think that perhaps we could start a tradition in her name? Queen Livia was full of life, and gave the kingdom many wonderful children. Her vibrance is beyond measure. This is what we should remember, hold onto. This is what we should embrace. Ah' think we should have some soft of day of giving. A day forgiving, a day of putting lives back together. And I was thinking that perhaps the Queen of the land could put execute this day. There will be Queens in our lands, and we should remember her name and image by giving back to ourselves and others. It isn't just coin that can help people. Freindship, a helping hand, or even just an ear can do much to improve people's lives..both common and not. We could focus on things to improve our kingdom, and the people's lives on this day. And it also could help that our new Queen would bring in a remembrance of the last Queen, giving her an honour. Perhaps this might help to soothe the fact that she is no longer with us, by showing that we dont want to forget the last queen but we wish to remember and honour her in a favorable and loving way. What..do you think your highness?"

Barret listens in silence, his hands fold behind his back as he ponders Aeryn's words. A fond smile ghosts on his features, when the ennobled commoner speaks of the late queen. But not a single word will leave his lips until she is finished with presenting her proposal. And after another moment of silence is passed, in which he extends his hand and places it on Aeryn's shoulder. "It is a splendid idea. Like, a Day of the Queen. Where we would remember Livia, but also all queens that came before her. Because... our kingdom is in need of a queen, like an orphan would be in need of a mother. The current queen would host the festivities that would be held on this day. Yes. Aeryn. I will definitely consider this."

Aeryn brightens and reaches over to ruffle up the little cub's fur. "Ah' think that sounds like a good idea. And a good way tae' introduce our new Queen tae' the people.. It'll be a hard transition for them and whatever we can do to make them feel more comfortable with it I think it's our duty tae' do." She plops Charlotte on her lap, but the litle cub quickly wiggles off back onto the pillows. "Are yae' excited about the news? Ah' know it's a duty, but duty aside..is it something yae' lookin' forward to?" She blushes softly "I'm looking forward to meeting her. It's been a while since a woman's touch has been upon the castle. Yes, there have been the Princesses, but we are but girls still. We have nae' yet developed the softer touch upon things that a developed woman has, the wisdom and culture of a mature woman."
