Where: Road into the Woods - Dark Forest - Unknown Lands
Room Desc: Beyond the northern border of the Kingdom of the Two Rivers is a large swath of dark green. This area is known as the Dark Forest by the residents of the Two Rivers. Once one is walking under the canopy it because obvious why it has this name. The canopy overhead is so thick barely any light from the sun gets through, in fact it seems the only way to judge night from day is whether the forest is dimly lit or is pitch black. The trees here are massive and climb into the sky seemingly without end.

Some might wonder if this is how forests used to look before humans arrived and started to chop them down for wood. The Dark Forest is no less quiet then any other forest however, as all manner of sounds are heard most of the time, both day and night. Still the dim to no light might make some uneasy as they travel beneath the dark green above.

<FS3> Selia rolls Body-2: Failure. <FS3> Notus rolls 2: Success.

It has been three days of being curled up in blankets feeling miserable. Selia has been kept off to herself for the most part due to concerns about her illness. Mistress Denfield, the camp's healer has been trying her best to help the suffering girl, though without knowing anything about the illness she can only treat the symptoms as best she can. Unfortunately that hasn't helped Selia much, and even the Mistress has gotten a bit sick herself. Fortunately Mistress Denfield isn't remotely as sick as Selia and has been managing with an annoyingly runny nose and occasionally watery eyes, as her symptoms seems more like an allergy to the local pollen then a true sickness. Denfield makes her way over to where Selia has been provided a place with yet another attempt to relieve the poor girl's symptoms, one might question if Denfield actually is a healer if not for the fact her concoctions smell and taste like medicine.

Selia lays curled up in her blankets. She closes her eyes but that seems to make the ground spin and so she opens them again. She watches the healer come closer and prepares herself for more of the medicine. Nasty stuff but if it tasted good would it then be medicine? at least there are no leaches or blood letting.

Denfield moves to take a seat by Selia and says, "poor thing, I am doing all I can to help you. I've not seen anything like this before so all I can do is try what I know. The last one seemed to have helped to reduce your fever at least, with luck this will help you keep things down so you can eat more." She she reaches over with a gentle hand, to try and cradle Selia's head and angle it so she can drink the latest concoction easier. The plus side Selia might not resist the efforts given the state she is in.

Selia does not resist. She just as soon get well. She hates being ill. So she drinks the nasty stuff, "Thank you" she cannot believe how weak she sounds to her own ears. "Just don't let me die" she whispers. "I have some really good wine aging back home for someone special. I'd hate for it to go to someone who would not appreciate it." She takes a breath and sighs it out. If this stays down She'll hug the healer. "Has Slider been around. Has he come back?"

"Shh." the healer soothes as she reaches up to rest Selia's head in her lap, and gently strokes her hair, "You will not die if I have anything to say about it." As Slider is brought up she frowns softly and says, "Not yet, I'm sure he just got caught up scouting. Maybe who knows, maybe he found a kitten out there to bring to you to help you feel better." in a soft, almost motherly tone.

Selia smiles and lets her eyes close. "He would spend a couple of days just playing with it before he brought it back to camp." She just lays there appreciating the closeness with he healer. Her eyes tear up as she remembers her mother. "You have been good to me. But I should warn you that I am not a good woman. Haven't been for a very long time."

Denfield says, "Shh. We all do what we can child. You have come to help in this historic event, this is the start of a new life for you I'm sure. If the past holds shame, then fill the future with righteousness and benefit to others." as she continues to gently sweep back the sweat-soaked hair, clearing Selia's face of obstructions.

Selia relaxes "A new life. wonder what it holds?" but her voice grows more quiet. her thought on what differences this trip might bring. until the medicine begins to make her sleepy. "I think I am going to hold it down."

Denfield simply nods as she stays with Selia, stroking her hair to help her sleep.
