Summary: Princess Barbeta Brais visits her beloved uncle Argon Brais to give him a wedding gift, because she won't be able to participate in the ceremony. | |||||||

With all the work needed to be done before the upcoming wedding, Argon has managed to get a break now, at least. He's at the manor house, making his way over in the direction of the master bedroom, from the direction of the garden, steps a bit slow at the moment. He is humming a song, a bit absently.
Barbeta enters the Brais Manor in quite a hurry. She moves through the chambers is needed, till she will find her uncle. The girl is more dressed for hunting, than to impresse someone, but Princess is quite impressive, no matter how she will be dressed up. True beauty! So, her gown, which nicely fits at the bodice and has a waistline that leads to a full skirt is decorated with dark brown corset made out of leather. The high rising collar at the back of neckline that sculpts low across the chest bares the girl's pale skin, where modest silverly necklace is dangling. Barbeta covers her shoulders with a long cloak color of the flora around - dark green.
She is followed by her handmaid and two guards. One of these guards are carring something long and a bit heavy rolled into the red velvet fabric.
When Barbeta approaches her uncle she offers him a smile, extanding her hands for a hug, "UNCLE!" But he has to be careful. She is carring bow and some arrows on her shoulders.
Coming to a stop as he hears the sound of the people arriving, Argon smiles as he sees Barbeta. "Barbeta. How are you today?" he asks, as he moves to carefully hug her, managing to avoid getting stabbed by the arrows. "Going hunting?"
"Of course!" The girl chuckles, "What would I do more if not hunting? That's the only activity left for me in our home," she frowns slightly and is obviously quite irritated by something. However, she tries to smile and waves for her guard to come closer, "Uncle, I won't disturb you for too long. After all, you need to smile! Your wedding is comming. Sadly, I won't be able to be there, and that hurts me deeply. Though, I am sure that your wife will amuse you and... Well... You will have wonderful day and night! So..." She nods her guard, who extands the roll of velvet for the man, "I wanted to give you a gift sooner..." The girl explains.
When the man will take it, he will understand, that it a sword. The sword is made just perfectly. Sharp and incredibly beautiful. The brown pommel is decorated with silver leaves of a tree. The words "HONOUR THE MAPLE!" are engraved on the blade.

"The only activity...?" Argon pauses for a few moments now, looking quite serious. "What's wrong, Barbeta?" Nodding a bit at the rest of the words, he looks a bit sad for a few moments. "Wait, you will not be able to be there? Why?" Waiting for a few moments as he studies her carefully now, before taking the roll, and bringing out the sword from within. "Oh, Barbeta, this is a wonderful gift." Eyes going to the sword as he holds it up, studying it now.
"Made by Ottis Penderghast! One of the best blacksmiths I met. I knew, that I can trust him with such a gift for my most important friend and uncle!" The girl springs once again forward, not being too much cautious about the sword in uncle's hands, and clasps her hands around the man, hugging him so tightly, "I love you so much. I am so happy for your happines!"
Thankfully, Argon is cautious, and lowers the sword to keep it out of the way as he's hugged again. "I love you too, Barbeta. We all do. And to know you are happy for me makes me feel even more happy." A brief pause, before he adds, "You didn't answer my question, though..."
"Huh?" The girl withdraws from her uncle, "What questions?" She casually waves her hand, "ENough about me, better, let me hear how all these weddings will look like? I remember these wonderful ceremonies, when we still had..." The girl nods her guards to get out of the room, and then she adds in a whisper, "When we still had Gods... How the ceremony will look now? Have you kissed your bride already, or you will have your first kiss later? Tell me, tell me everything, uncle!"
"Why will you not be able to attend the wedding?" Argon asks, before he adds, "You know, I worry about you sometimes, Barbeta." A brief pause at the questions. "I actually don't know too much about how the ceremony will be. Probably similar, yet different." A brief pause as he glances around, "As for the kissing part... I'm not really sure what I should say."
The girl giggles and gently pokes her uncle, "What?! I am no longer a little girl, uncle! Or maybe..." Her eyes widen, cheeks blush a bit, she covers her mouth with both hands in childish surprise, which likely is pretended, "Maybe you two already... you know... confirmed the marriage?" She giggles and lowers her hands, adding, "Will I be able to be the godmother of your child? I will teach her or him of hunting, and... everything!"
"Hmm? Oh..." Argon blinks a few times before he shakes his head a little. "No, we haven't done that. That should wait for the wedding, after all." A brief pause, before he adds, "I just remember someone told me that one should never kiss someone, and then speak too much about it to others." A brief pause at the question about her being the godmother of the child, before he smiles, "I hope you will be there to teach him or her of hunting." Expression turning serious again now. "Now, answer the question, or will I have to go ask your father about it?"
The girl pouts, when her uncle keeps comming back to her troubles. SHe shakes her head, "It's almost the eve of your wedding, uncle. I would be the most cruel person in the world to bother you with my troubles! I just... Went into disagreement with my father. It happens, sometimes, especially when the man sees me like a useless child! I am 17 years old and I am the child, when Luanda is 18 years old and she is considered... an adult?! It's just one year!" The girl shakes her head, "I am starting to be cruel. Don't make me to speak about it, uncle. I will go on a hunt, I will calm down, and... Everything will fade!"
The girl looks over her uncle, "Have you chosen the attire already?"
Argon reaches out to hug her again now. "I'm sorry to hear that. You know he loves both you and Luanda very much, right? He may feel a bit overly protective, since the two of you are all he has left." Nodding a little as he hears the rest. "Just be careful and make sure you return safely to us all. Prmise me that." At the mention of the attire, he smiles, "It's being worked on by the tailor now."
"I am sure, that you will be the most handsome man in the room!" The girl grins and tiptoes to place a peck on his cheek, "I promise, I will be back home safe and... Uncle, it's just one of my many hunting trips! And I should leave, that I wouldn't have to spend the night in the forest. Love you, uncle!" She beams, before turning to leave.
Argon nods a little as he hears that. "Oh, I'm sure there will be many handsome younger men there too," he remarks, before he nods as he hears the rest. "Be safe, Barbeta. And come visit us here as soon as you return, okay?"
The girl gives no answer for her uncle, just a wide, a bit mischievious smile, before disappearing from the room.
