|
The middle of the day. When everyone are gathered around the tables, trying to stuff themslefs with the wine and most tasty meals, Nimoria is standing in front of the altar of Onimoria. She keeps her hands crossed in front of herself. The woman's head is a bit lowered. Nimoria is wearing quite a proper gown. It is made of silver fabric, covered with light green silk chiffon, embroidered with rosettes in pearls and glass. The dress has a long skirt with a train.
The entrance to the Royal Chapel is guarded by Four Guardians of Onimoria as always. Two are standing in the passage, and two are standing inside the Chapel. All men are not moving and are freezed like sculptures. Without them and Nimoria the Chapel would be empty.
Madalyn arrives at the chapel, smiling as she sees Nimoria within. After directing her guards to wait outside, she enters quietly. "Royal Mother, I am glad to have found you. Do you have a moment to spare to speak with me?"
Nimoria slowly turns to Madalyn, and offers her a polite curtsy, "Your Highness... I always have time for you, as much time as you need..." Her gaze slides to the guards left outside, as if she wants to make sure, that the Princess has enough guards with her. Then she looks back at her and adds in a calm soft whisper, "How may I help you?"
Madalyn bows her head slightly at the curtsy but doesn't really care for such pleasantries. "I met a woman earlier this week, red hair, claimed to be a commoner that was brought to the castle on royal decree. I'm curious how that could be, since I certainly did not bring her and mother as far as I know is still resting. Who is she?"
"Oh..." Nimoria's smile grows, "You met Edris Alachri. She was invited to the castle as a guest by your mother. Your mother is doing better and better with each day. Lady Adara pays many visits to her and informs your mother about many events. She still is not in the mood to get out of bed and rule the Kingdom fully. So, she is in the need of your help. It will take time till your mother... will heal from depression..."
Nimoria shakes her head slowly, "I am sorry, your Highness. We were talking about Edris Alachri... She is one of the Whispers. The woman worked really hard for our Kingdom. She was a spy in the Kingdom of Golden Lion, as far as I know. She done lots of good for us. When lady Adara informed your mother, that woman is pregnant, the Queen insisted, that she would give birth here in the castle. Your mother still remembers that little redhead who grew up in these passages. Her parents worked for the Queen. So, the Queen asked us, The Fourth, to take care of Edris while she is pregnant. It's your mother's "thank you" for that woman."
Madalyn smiles brightly. "Oh, that is wonderful on both counts! I will be glad to have her back in charge. Strange, I never would have expected my mother to do something like that for a commoner. I suppose that I am just used to being scolded."
Nimoria smiles at the girl quite motherly this time, "Your Highness, our little Princess... Sometimes people have to face tragedy in order to see the life in different colors. I don't think, that you will be scolded anymore. When the thought, that your mother may die, reached you... You changed. You were very good on that council and nobody hears troubled news about your behaviour. Your mother is very proud of you."
Nimoria raises her hand to brush Madalyn's hair if allowed, to pat her on the head gently, "Your mother faced death too. Now she sees everything differently... I believe that pleasant surprise wits for you in the future."
Madalyn titls her head into the caress. "I could not disapoint her again. It was bad enough what I did with Two Rivers. Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon. I am quite looking forward to having a little sister, too."
There is a tiny flinch in Nimoria's smile, when she hears Madalyn's words. Though, the woman's look does not change. It is still strangely warm and carring, "Nothing happens without a reason, after all. Some people think, that Patrons are just playing with our lifes. They send us one signs, and later other ones. They send us one visions, and later other visions. Sometimes they ask us wear black, sometimes - white. All that may look confusing, but it's just challanges send for us by the Patrons. We can always make a mistake interpreting the steps of our Patrons, because we are just mundane people, who can't understand the brightest minds of our Patrons. That is why... do not be so sure. One moment Onimoria was ready to take away your little sister. Now she decided to allow us to welcome her in our world, but you can never know, what will happen tomorrow..."
Madalyn features switch to concern. "I suppose if it is the patrons will it would be vain of me to try to try resist it, but I pray that no further distress comes. For my mother to be so close to death, then have to deal with losing a child, too ... it sounds to horrible to withstand."
"Yes... We live in pain here. The stronger we are, the more pain we have to carry on our shoulders. Patrons are willing to see our limits, but they will never overstep it. they know exactly, how many black days we can survive, if we won't lost our way. After all, it is our goal - to not lose the way and then we will be granted with permission to stay in the gardens of Margueritte, where we will forget about the pain and darkness."
Nimoria sighs and lowers her head. If allowed, she will try to tug Madalyn into her arms and give her a tight hug, "The Queen is in one of tehse moments, where she can walk into the side and lose the right way. She is fighting against a very dark depression. She wants to go through it alone, but looners barely survives. That is why she needs you. She needs her daughter not to lose her way..."
Madalyn nods solemly. "I should go see her. I have been keeping my distance because she was not well enough for visitors, but that no longer seems to be the issue. Thank you, royal mother, for your time and wisdom."
"Anytime, your Highness... It was a wisdom given for me by the Patrons. Never forget to prey for Onimoria, Lotingus and Margueritte. Never..." Then Nimoria offers a proper curtsy and turns back to the portrait of Onimoria.
