Where: The Queen's Chambers - Isle of the Crown
Room Desc: This room is massive, roughly a quarter of the size of the Great hall of the castle. The ceiling is vaulted, around the edges of the room the vault is less pronounced compared to the center of the room. Pillars can be found in the center of the room, helping to support the ceiling above. The pillars are crimson in color with decorative vines winding their way up the pillars with the blooms of roses, lilies, and canary creepers stud the decorative vines in ways to enhance the beauty. The blooms and vines both are covered in gold leif.

The ceiling is adorned with decorative patterns around the edges of each slope of the vaults, with a cascade of decorative feathers adorn the arches between the vaults. All of the decorative touches including the feathers are inlaid gold.

The floor is white marble like the rest of the castle, though a large collection of various rugs and furs cover the floor. This both covers most of the white and also provides a warm, soft surface to walk upon as opposed to the cold, hard marble underneath. Hanging from the crest of each vault are golden chandeliers with tallow candles. Silken crimson sleeves cover the chains which connect the chandeliers to the ceiling above. Entering from the main hall the first thing one typically sees is a large portrait of Matyas Onimus, the husband of Queen Abegayle Onimus, which is centered on the wall. Surrounding this portrait are other portraits, all in gold frames, of the Queen or her husband, or the two of them together.

Opposite the wall of portraits and a few feet from the door to the main hall is a massive bed with an intricately carved headboard and baseboard, covered entirely in gold leif. Running between two of the central pillars as well as between those same pillars and the wall is a golden frame that surrounds the bed, from which hang silken curtains of crimson with a golden trim and also stitched in gold is the sigil of House Onimus itself. To the left of the main entry doors are windows covering the entire wall to let in the light of the sun, and perhaps to enjoy sunrises as well. The windows are framed in gold and panes of the finest glass fills the spaces between. A few plush benches have been arranged by the windows to allow one to sit and enjoy the view.

Opposite the windows is a wall with a set of double-doors matching those that lead out into the main hall, crimson in color with decorative golden frames and knobs. This door leads to an antechamber for use by the Queen and her husband only, and is almost always closed. The rest of the room is furnished with end tables, chairs, couches, a desk, and a table as well. All of these are crimson in color with gold trim, accents, or the like.

The guards of the Queen's chambers were warned, that The Fourth and lady Adara is allowed to enter the Queen's room without her personal permission. So, when that caiman will approach the men, they both will move spears away and will open a heavy doors for her. The Mistress of Whispers will find Abegayle sitting on a chair. The touch of an illness is still visible, however, the royal elegance is back in the Queen's stance. Even if her skin is a bit pale, and the old woman looks even more slim than she was before, her keen eyes are watching at the sky with quite a self-confidence and with a new energy. The woman keeps her hair tress, letting them fall over her back freely and sway in the air. Her long nightgown is once again close fitting and her abdomen is flat. She keeps a cup of tea in her hands. A warm smoke is still raising up from it.

Her investigations were leading Adara to possibilities she didn't favor but she needed to prepare for. Setting off to the Queen's Chambers, Adara hoped she was wrong, but only the Queen could grant permission in the event she was correct. As the doors are opened for her, she makes her way inside. Dressed in the colors of her house she offers a formal curtsey as the double doors are closed behind her. "Your Majesty." said in a formal tone, awaiting permission to approach or speak.

"Yes, lady Adara, please, take a seat..." The Queen gestures with her hand towards the opposite chair. However, she nor smiles, nor looks into the other woman. Instead, the Queen just takes a long sip of her tea. A few pigeons flies behind the window. The sky is clear. There are no any cloads in the sky, but luckily the sun is shinning from the other side. So, the room is not filled with the heat. A soft aroma of vanila is hiveing in the air, when incenses are fuming beside her neatly tidy bed.

Adara nods and takes the offered seat and says, "Thank you for the personal audience Your Majesty." her tone calm and serious. After taking a deep breath she says, "I hate to bring you bad news given the state of things, but I believe there might be a problem with your son Prince Nathan." She looks to the Queen's eyes, at least as best as she is able, and says, "I have evidence to suggest Prince Nathan might be having relations with one of my Whispers. While I might not care much about such things normally, I am also aware this same individual is with child. Given the tenuous state of the line of succession, if this proves to be true I would consider this matter treason as Prince Nathan isn't married, nor betrothed and is unable to produce legitimate heirs. Also the fact we do not need a bastard with a potential claim on the throne. I hope that I am wrong, though as a pragmatist I must take considerations in the event I am not. If it proves true the Prince is guilty of producing an illegitimate potential heir to the throne, do I have your permission to place him under house arrest until you are able to fully review my findings when my investigation is complete and judge him as you see fit?"

The Queen was just following the birds outside with her gaze, until Adara mentions her son. The only one son, who she thought being really loyal. However, even her eyebrows do not flinch as if nothing could surprise the Queen anymore. The woman leans to place a cup of tea on the table beside. Then she looks into Adara's eyes and listens. When woman finshes, the Queen does not answer her at all. Quite uncomfortable silence lsts for a few moments. If Mistress of Whispers will try to interrupt or say something, the Queen will raise her hand and ask to stay silence. It's hard to understand, what the Queen is thinking, but something really strange sparkles in her dark eyes. Then she asks, "How long that woman is with a child?"

Adara remains silent as the Queen thinks. When she finally does speak Adara says, "Roughly four months now I believe. I will say however, that if this is true, such treason will be punished severely for the mother. Especially as she is one of my own."

"Four months now... She is one of yours..." the Queen drawls and turns her dark gaze into the clouds again, thoughtfully rubbing her chin. "Tell me, lady Adara, more about that Whisper. How she looks? Did you trust her before?"

Adara says, "As I said, I cannot be certain yet if the child she has does belong to your son. Without further evidence I will keep the name to myself for now, but yes I did trust her prior to this. She is of common birth, I will say that."

"Yes yes yes..." the Queen waves her hand cassually as if she is not caring if the child is her son's or not, "I was asking, how does she look? Tell me about her hair, nose, eyes, body..."

Adara studies the Queen for a bit before asking, "Do you already believe you know who this is? Speak the name you suspect and I will confirm or deny if it is the same."

Suddenly the Queen frowns. She turns to lady Adara, bumping her own fist into the table, "LADY ADARA!" The Queen raises her tone. She inhales deeply, the anger is obvious in her eyes, "Who do you think you are to challenge me for some kind of a stupid games. I am your Queen and you are just a lady, who serves to me. If I ask questions - you answer. Do you understand?!!!" The Queen's fist becomes really pale and starts shaking from the strength how she clenches it.

Adara remains calm and collected as the Queen shouts at her. Finally she says, "Red hair, comely body. Green eyes, early thirties, she could be mistaken for nobility with the way she carries herself. From what I have gathered so far she has been in the castle before in the hall of the royal apartments."

Quickly the Queen's features softens. She smiles at lady Adara, "I am so sorry for my temper. I blame my illness for this," she giggles and gasps suddenly, "Lady Adara, I didn't offer you anything!" The Queen turns to the door and calls out, "Mira! Mira!" A young maid shows up in the room and offers a deep curtsy, "Please, bring some wine or tea for the lady here. And bring us some refreshments. We will be here for awhile." The girl bows and leaves, when Adara tells what she prefers more. The Queen turns to the woman then, "Tell me her name and what does she do for her living?”

Adara looks to Mira and says, "No thank you, I only recently had something." Once the servant has left she looks to the Queen and says, "If you are considering declaring her a noble to allow a marriage, I would advise against it. There is the possible treason I've mentioned, and I know for a fact she has compromised the castle guard already for whatever goals she may have, such things are to be punished. Not to mention Prince Nathan has expressed a possible interest in Leah Landos, though is concerned she wouldn't accept him. Also the fact that even though she is a Chief Whisper here in the capital, that isn't public knowledge, to everyone who might know of her, she is known to be a Madame. Hardly someone you want associated in such a personal way."

The Queen rolls her eyes, "Lady Adara, I won't announce some kind of a whore as a noble woman," the woman's voice is very calm and quite soft. Even a smile curls up her lips. "I have way more bigger issues to handle right now..." Abegayle leans back in her seat and fixes a keen gaze on Adara. "You are the only one without the Fourth, whom I trust. I even took your daughter in. So, you will help me here..." Abegayle frowns slightly and rubs her chin again, "You see, we had some hardships lately. We can't disappoint people and we can't let people distrust the Patrons. They promised us a child. They promised us a new Queen. If everyone will learn, that the child given me by Onimoria is dead... People will remember curses of the killed priestess. The banished Patrons might get stronger. We can't allow that happen. So, I have a new plan..." The Queen's smile fills with self-confidence, "You as the Mistress of Whispers will write a perfectly detailed and thorough announcement, which will be spread around the town, that the Queen is getting well. That her child is healthy. However, after the Queen met Onimoria herself again, the Patron was so kind and forgiving. She saw, that our Princess Madalyn Onimus started to look into things seriously, when she almost faced the death of her mother. So, Onimoria forgives to the Princess and she will be the heir from now on. She passed the test of Margueritte. You will find a way how to explain more clearly it for people. Though, sign the announcement as The Fourth. However, the new child of the Queen will become the Leader of a New World. That is why I decided to stay in my room. For the sake of the child. Mention, that the child will be wild and strong, and it will be the child of a fire, which will be unstoppable, and will bring us glory..." The Queen stops just for a moment to inhale, before continuing, "Then it will be your job to find a reason, why that woman has to be braught in the castle. I need her to stay in the castle and until birth of her child, she can't leave the walls of the castle. Find reasons... you must. For the sake of our Kingdom. But do not scare her. She must believe that we are friends. Then we will find a midwife, which will help her to bring the child into the world. We will find a way, that she wouldn't hear the cry of her baby. We will tell, that her child died. It will be braught for me and I will grow her up as my own. People will trust pPatrons. The kid will have a wonderful life. I do not care if she carries the child of my son or not. Though, you must learn that too." The Queen beams widely, "Also, send my son away. Meet him and tell him to speak with my sister, our Admiral. She will give him crew and ships. Tell him to find a kingdom for his new sibling. It will be almost the same as if you would keep him locked in the room."

Adara frowns and says, "I understand the need religiously, though perhaps a better option could try and be found if you care not if it has your blood or not. Perhaps even a child that would be the age of your loss. If you have your mind set however I will see to what I can, though I still place my reservations for the record I do not approve of using Edris in such a way. Taking away her child would be punishment for her efforts, I do not like using her offspring for this task. I can't explain it but there is something about this that doesn't sit right with me, not your plan but Edris' child specifically."

The Queen's smile fades. She wraps her fingers into the fists again, "Her child is exactly the same age as my own would be. You said her child is about four months. Mine was too. You are no in position to question my decisions. You will write the announcement I asked you to. You will sign it as the Fourth. I give you one week to find out if that child is my son's or not. If he is my son's, I even more need her in the castle, and her child will become mine, while she will think, that her child is dead. This will be punsihment for her, and the child will be saved." The Queen shivers and some kind of a darkness overclouds her eyes. She turns her gaze to Adara, "If she is so pure and innocent, I may consider a posibility to let you find me another child of exactly the same age, but the mother must know, that the child is dead and I don't need an already born child from the orphan home. Sooner or later the rumors might spread about it. Too dangerous. Plus, I want to see the mother, I want to see if she is taking care of herself properly, while she is carring the child. So, if not that woman, you will have to find another, who will face her destiny. However, if you won't bring me the answer about that redhead woman in one week, I will understand, that you are conspiring against me." The Queen's eyes darkens even more, "And if I don't have a woman with child for fourth months in my castle, you will answer. If you lie about the child in the redhead's belly, you will answer with your head. Do you understand me?" The Queen is shaking from anger now.

Adara remains calm and says, "As you say my Queen." in a serious tone. She remains seated as she hasn't been dismissed yet and says, "I believe it would be easy enough to explain with another child, but I will continue to investigate, and make the arrangements you have said.”

"Maybe it is the destiny, that your redhead not another woman is in such a trouble at this moment, carring the child of exactly the same age as mine was..." The Queen turns her gaze to the clouds again. However, she remains all tense, "However, even if she is innocent, I want her to be punished. There's no smoke without fire. She did something, what she was not allowed to do. I do not want my son's reputation to be ruined. So, my son must be married in two months, if not Leah, found someone else, I don't care whom, just noble. I will think about the punishment for a woman.”

Adara nods and says, "I believe I should finish my investigation by then as I am nearing the end. Might I speak freely on a feeling Your Majesty?"

"You can try," the Queen says, reaching for the cup of her cold tea now.

Adara nods and says, "Truth be told I cannot explain it, but the reason i am hesitant about the child, whether it has your blood or not. I have a feeling of darkness the more I have thought of it of late. You know I am not overly devout or one who believes in signs or the like, but something in me feels wrong when I think about that child. I am starting to wonder if it actually might be a kind of trick. I agree that it seems more then chance that the two pregnancies are so similar. I get the feeling that it isn't the will of the patrons however, I believe it might be the efforts of the Banished Patrons." Taking a breath she adds, "I am starting to get the feeling the Banished patrons used the weakness of men to sneak a child of their creation, one they control, into the kingdom. Using your own blood, to corrupt the blood of Onimoria and Lotingus to potentially bring about their end."

"If, what you say is truth, I can tell you just one thing, lady Adara. There is nothing more important than keeping your friends close. But even more important is to keep your enemies even closer. I trust Onimoria, Lotingus and Marguerite. If that child is the creation of the banished Patrons, he will be more important for us as an ally and my own child than if he would be running free and trying to find wrong friends. So, if you do not have any more concerns, I am sure, that you have a lot of work. Announcement wait for you. Don't forget to meet Madalyn and tell her how Onimoria and her mother are proud of her, that she finally looked in her position seriously and that she is able to stay there. Meet Nathan and send him to my sister. If they will agree, then he will be travelling a lot and we will be able to postpone the marriage. But you know, my sister never liked babies on her board. He is good with sword, but barely had a wheel of the ship in his hands. So, if he won't travell, he must be married in two months. And you have one week for that girl."

Adara still doesn't look happy with the decision about the child, however she simply nods and says, "I'll see what I can discover. I will speak with your son as well. I'd rather punish Edris myself for what she has done, as she misused Whisper resources to do so, but if you wish to punish her personally beyond the matter with the child I will leave it to you." She then stands, curtseys, and adds, "If there is nothing more Your Majesty I will return to my duties."
