Marcus happened to walk into the castle library, using what ever skills needed to walk in, speak to the man and then continue on towards the library. Upon reaching it he looks up and down and then sighs a bit. Now he starts to look for one of the scribes. It is still midday and pleanty of people about and he is not dirty clothing, they be not bad.

The library was extensive to a point. Books and records of all sorts littering the shelves, and all sorts of people walking around either looking at books or having conversations. One scribe in particular is coming back into the mains, dressed in robes to fit his station. Spying Marcus, he gives a tilt of his head and then approaches the man. "Greetings, is there something I can help you to find?"

Marcus looks at the man and then smiles and extends a hand in greeding if the man takes the hand that is. " I am Marcus, I am looking for a ledger or a book that has the names and or occupants of the residents of thsi area and sorrounding area. I know there may be several but would like to see a few from fifty years ago."

The man, indeed, takes that offered hand to shake briefly - yet firmly. Upon hearing Marcus' request, he would purse his lips in thought before giving a glance around the library. "You must understand, some of the records may be a little off due to the famine and plague that struck these lands many years ago. However, I do believe we might have something you are looking for." He would wave for Marcus to follow him, leading the man down a couple of aisles before coming upon a few books of historical nature. "Here we are. A history of Woriscant families... though are you looking for common lines, something more?" A hint of - perhaps - curiosity in his voice before he offers a smile and then waits for an answer of sorts.

Marcus follows the man and moves along observing much of the palce and finaly when they get to the section he blinks and hmms. " Oh, that is fine and looking for common lines . Just a personal look and just tracing my families name back a bit, see where it started and when they arrived. I know they have not been long but at least fifty years." then thinking a bit more he looks to the man. " What you mean more if I may ask? So, your saying there are common family names and then there are ..noble names in a different section?"

The man smirks and nods his head. "Ah, doing a little name digging. I like the idea. Sometimes there are more. We do try to keep noble lines and common lines separated... but sometimes... they can cross..." He would reach for one book, blowing some of the dust off the cover and then grabs another as well. Offering those over to Marcus with a smile. "If you desire, we have a few tables near the back where you can sit and read through them... some parchment and ink quills if you would like to take notes. I am afraid these particular texts cannot be removed from the library themselves, however. Make sure we keep the records where they can be found, I am sure you will understand." Saying that much, a smirk across his lips.

Marcus looks to the man and listens to the mans words, it takes a moment to deside and then nods. " Alright, parchment and ink be nice, thank you. Seems I have a lot of work ahead of me." then he looks at the first book and goes and takes a seat. " If that is all the advice, thank you."

There is a nod of his head and then the man smiles. "Surely. If you need anything else, do not be afraid to ask." A slight bow offered then and the man would move away to leave Marcus with his work.

The task is daunting. Names of all sorts seem to litter these books listing family names and their branches. In fact, when searching the name Devantry, one might even miss a part of the line. Silvius and Larrissa Devantry are the parents of Rayne Devantry. Traced back from that and Silvius was fathered by a man named Wyeth Devantry. Back further and Wyeth was the son of Elayne Devantry and Arix Lithgor, but a strange marking is next to the Lithgor name and nothing goes further back from Arix's line - in this book anyway.

Marcus eventualy goes on the task of reading and slowly. Some of the written names hard totell but after a bit of time he starts to understand the writers hand written word and now starts to slowly make sense. The ink is well provided, as well as the paper and soon he comes to that interesting entry. Lithgor...so far nothign else and so he rubs his eyes and looks up a bit, wonderign how long he has been here. He shakes his head then and rubs his temples and then gets up and goes ot find another book. This time he looks for the name Lithgor, though he is curious about that strange marking by it.

A book is found, one on Lesser Noble lines. Within the pages the line of Lithgor is found, and it lists the beginning, onwards until the name Arix comes up once more. In this book, Arix had children with Lunaria Lithgor and the line continues on. A single mentioning of Arix and Elayne with the child Wyeth is made, but the same marking is next to Wyeth's name as well, and would be continued in the first book Marcus had been given.

Marcus looks at the other book, more time passes and then eventualy he comes to that name again. Once again he writes a bit more information on the parchment and then looks through the rest of the next few pages. Finding nothing much of interest he closes the book and then decides to look at another book, may aswell make it a good look at finding more. He shows no excitement of diffference in the way he writes things, simple notes, outlines and pleanty of name. Now he rubs the back of his neck and leans back and then puts the book back among others and others. Now taking the parchment and making sure it is dry and stuffs it within the folds of his clothing. " Now, since I am in the castle area, may as well go visit a friend."

The same man who met Marcus before would walk past his table, finding the man seeming to pack up. He takes the time to actually walk over to Marcus' side. "Did you find everything that you were looking for?" Asking it gently, and perhaps with side curiosity on if he could replace the books that Marcus had been using. "I do hope the texts were adequeate enough with your search..."

Marcus looks at the man and smiles , though lookig a bit tired as it took a bit of time to go through the books he had gone through. " I got some information. Though I am curious. I had found some names that had a symbol on the side and started to research more and found it in another book and so on and so on. You kow what that means?" Marcus has a hunch but he is not going to show this man he knows what he is talking about and not going to show him what names he is looking into.

The man seems to give an 'ah' but it is inaudible. "Of course. It denotes bastard lines that no longer carried on within the noble houses. So if the line has survived, the carriers are noble, but they have no standing. Generally this happens if the noble had - say - a mistress or some such as that." The man would speak and then puts on a smile. "Other markings denote the end of lines and such, but you did mention the information carried on. An interesting development, no? It helps keep things in order should the need arise for validation of such bloodlines." Explaining that much more before offering a smile still.

Marcus oh's as well and then nods to the man. " I see, that is interesting to know. Though by look of things, there have been many bastard lines along the time but we all started some where." then with a bow of his head he sighs and turns to go. " Many thanx friend, your helpfullness is much appreciated." then he looks a bit tired and starst to head out, yup a long day for a man who is doing this for...nothing. He grumbles at the relization now.
