The Deave Inn is relatively quiet on this late morning. It feels like the calm before a storm, the quiet anticipation of a great spectacle, as word has spread about an execution that is to happen on the following day. Ralph Fennim, however appears to be quite relaxed, when he enters, a short inquiry aimed at the innkeep, as he waits for the reply. A nod offered to the man as it comes, before the Fennim heads towards the stairs that lead to the rooms on the upper floor. His stride is determined, but not too hurried as he approaches the door to the room which Rayne has claimed for the duration of her stay. "Mistress Devantry?", the Fennim announces his presence along with a knock to the door. The tone of his voice is confident, and emanates the authority of an official visit.

Quiet was all Rayne wanted, after the incident in the woods a couple days prior. Though awake, she wasn't wanting to move from her bed just yet, and then she would hear the knock on the door. An unfamiliar voice, and yet someone who knew her name and title, though being a commoner it wasn't like someone had to much guess at such a thing. "The door is unlocked, you may enter." Rayne calls out, and when the man does enter, he would find a perhaps worse-for-wear woman laying in bed with her hands and arms bandaged, and her face a bit on the busted side. From first looks it would seem like she had gotten into a brawl in the tavern, but no one was whispering about such actions, and further Rayne wasn't seen anywhere in town for a couple days until the day before.

The door will open and Ralph enters. His attire black as usual, but his mien perhaps not as dark as his attire. That smile will fade when he notices Rayne's slightly deranged state. "Good morn, Mistress Devantry. What in Two Rivers' name has happened, if I may ask?" Studying the healer with concern as he reaches for a chair, raising a brow as if to ask for her permission to take a seat. "And... are you well? Do you have..." ironically indeed, "...need for a healer?"

"Lord Fennim..." It is all Rayne can say at first as she sits up and makes as much of an effort as possible to regard him with the upmost respect. "A good morn to you as well. I was in the woods just outside Deave... beautiful woods if not dark and dreary...but the woods are where I like to call home. Plus, they have interesting herbs and flora that have properties I'd like to explore. But I digress..." She smiles, as best she can before shifting to lie back in her bed once more. "I was attacked by a large cat, and then a storm hit, and I wound up lost in the woods. Master Marcus found me, and saved me, then was attacked himself. It was a interesting evening to say the least. However, no, I do not need a healer. I've tended to myself, but thank you." There would be a blush then that reddens her cheeks and she casts her eyes to her hands folded in her lap. "I am sorry, M'Lord, was there something you needed of me?"

Even if the invitation to sit does not come, Ralph will take the seat now beside Rayne's bed, leaving a bit of distance between them though. "A large cat? And you were there all by yoursel", he echoes, raising a brow. "And Master Marcus? How convenient he was there to rescue you. Mistress Devantry. Is he well and unscathed?" These news bring a bit of a frown to his face. "But well. A large cat is better than an Islander, I suppose." Then remembering her question the Fennim will straighten in his seat, and shoot her a glance. "I am paying you this visit to inform you that the Queen has signed a document, that stresses your innocence in the murder. It is not much, but something I have insisted on, after all the trouble you have went through, the arrest, the dungeons..." And there he hands her a scroll he has held in his hnd all the while.

Rayne was a little out of her mind at the moment, and in truth trying to focus on something that wasn't the pain, so common ettiquette was perhaps lost in the moment. Still, watching him take a seat, she would lift her shoulders in a shrug. "In truth, My Lord, Master Marcus has... been keeping a close eye on me. Perhaps paid to do it, perhaps ensuring that nothing more plagues my stay here concerning particular matters...but he was attacked by the cat...and...well I had to kill the creature to save Marcus." Saying that much before watching as the Lord sits up in his seat a bit, giving a tilt of her head while listening to him. "Oh..i-is that...is that so? Well...I do appreciate the Queen doing as such.. and...for you also My Lord. I...well.." She would turn her gaze away then before shaking her head some. "I am sorry I caused our lands such strife and stresses...it was never my intention...I didn't mean..." She would sigh, leaning back in her bed some, seeming to mumble something to herself while setting her gaze to the ceiling then.

"Paid to do it...?" Ralph echoes, looking a bit surprised. "Now what do you mean by that, Mistress Devantry? Who...?" And there his voice trails off and a smile appears, when he sees her reaction to the letter. If she will have a look at the scroll she will notice it is written in the Common language, and has the signature of Queen Abegayle Onimus at the bottom. "I had insisted on a written confirmation of sorts," he explains as his gaze drifts to the scroll in her hand. "Or, given the manner of your release, the taint of the accusations brought up against you would have remained. I am sure you didn't intend for the situation to develop as it did." And after a moment he adds: "I am glad the matter has been finally resolved. The true culprits have been found and will receive their punishment."

"He...he said he was paid a sum of money to keep an eye on me. Though it has turned him a bit...loomful." If that was even a word, and Rayne would lift her shoulders after a moment. "In a way I'm pleased for it, as if he had not been looking for me, I perhaps would not have been found until it was too late." Though she waves a hand in a dismissive sort of fashion before Ralph had her attention concerning the scroll in her hand. Looking to it for a moment, and then her gaze returns to Ralph. "I am glad, my lord, as well. That the matter has been resolved and all...wrongful parties accused...restored." Closing the scroll, she returns her gaze to the ceiling before closing her eyes a moment. "I miss Two Rivers...at this point I am not sure we can get home fast enough...." Letting her proper tongue befall her, and speaking even to the Lord within her room plainfully.

"Nevermind for what reason he was there, but obviously it was a good thing," Ralph remarks with a smile, nodding to her dismissive gesture. "I am sure we will return, as soon as this matter of punishing the culprits has been dealt with," he remarks pensively. <"We are soon to return to Two Rivers, I assure you. I have a matter to bring before the King.">, added in the Two Rivers, tongue, as he shoots her an assuring glance. Then pausing as if a thought had suddenly crossed his mind. "You are from Woriscant, judging from your accent, Mistress Devantry? The we could return to those beautiful woods together, if you would enjoy a bit of company. I believe the Duke is already back in Woodwatch Keep."

Rayne would simply nod her head to the words that the Lord before her speaks. She knew of the word that people were being executed, and even if she was not in a state of being wounded, she would still not attend such a thing. Hardly attended affairs when back home either, but such was the way of the commoner who lives in the woods. A smile, as she hears the familiar Two Rivers tongue and her gaze shifts back to the Lord Fennim. "I am, indeed, from Woriscant, my Lord. I actually live in the woods. In a little shack where I can tend to the earth and make my mixtures in a sort of peace. However..." She wondered how, of even if, she should broach the subject concerning herself and Baldwin. "I...have matters of my own to attend to when I return. Though I suppose the other in question of these matters could go about it alone...but I...I fear what may happen when it is learned that such a man as a Knight has fallen for such a commoner as myself." Not mentioning names, gods forbid she do so, but perhaps if the subject is hinted at someone else in high standing. Though, on the other hand, the matter could be killed before it is given too much light, and so the Healer takes her chance and wonders just how the Lord Fennim will respond.

He probably will not be as fortunate to have a choice, whether to attend the execution or not. Ralph nods to her reply about Woriscant. "Ah, I see. You live in the woods. But... now that I think about it I remember seeing you on the market place now and then, in Woodwatch...?" The matter that is hinted had has him shoot a glance though. Certainly he has heard the rumors, as becomes clear when the Fennim lets out a sigh. "You are referring to Sir Baldwin?" Inquired with a bit of concern in his voice, and a hint of sympathy. "Do not get your hopes too high, Mistress Devantry. I do hope he has behaved honourably towards you, though? Regarding what I have seen of him so far, I would be surprised if he hadn't."

"Every now and again I would venture to Woodwatch. To sell my potions and salves, offer my services if necessary. Woodwatch is a peaceful town, thankfully, so often times I sell or barter just enough to survive the next week and then carry on back home." Rayne would affirm Ralph's notion of having perhaps seen her in the marketplace. She takes note of that look, however, and still a smile rests on a face tainted by weariness and some other hint of emotion in her moss green eyes. "My hopes are as they have always been, My Lord. Still, Sir Baldwin has treated me with nothing but kindness and honour. He does his family proud, I assure you." The smile brightens for just a moment as she gains the Lord Fennim's gaze perhaps once more. "I forgot to answer your request, my Lord. If you wish to honour me with your presence at times during our voyage home, I do not see where I would, or even should, mind, and would even welcome it."

"I am glad to hear that," Ralph replies, in regards to Baldwin's conduct. "And yes, he is. As he is a noble, Miss Devantry." That comment coming from a true blooded Fennim, while his cousin, the Duke, is of far less refined heritage. "While I would want to wish you happiness, I can only advise you to consider the consequences such a match may have on you and yes, on Sir Baldwin as well. It is no secret the Ivounels are ambitious. He may get diswoned even." A faint smile flickers over his brooding mien, when Ralph turns his dark gaze to meet that of the healer. "Do not get me wrong. I just wanted to warn you. I am in no position to put any judgement on you or Sir Baldwin." Her final remark makes Ralph's smile return. "I'd be honoured to escort you back to your home, especially after all you have been through here on the Isles."

"I believe it is only fair to see how things play out. Still, I am keenly aware that he is a noble." Rayne would mention, in a sort of affirmation perhaps. "Though your words are appreciated, my Lord, and will be taken close to heart, I assure you." After all, in the end, Rayne would not want any ill to befall Baldwin. If that meant forsaking whatever had formed between them here...but she would let him play out his intentions when they return home. See where it all leads. Not yet knowing what has transpired in Two Rivers already. Her thoughts are distracted by Ralph's words to being honoured to escort her home, and she would give a nod of her head. "Thank you, My Lord. That is most gracious of you." A smile then before she clears her throat. "My apologies, my Lord, but I fear we may need to pick up this conversation some other time. I would like to check my wounds and...perhaps get a little more rest." Saying as much while flickering a smile towards him.

Ralph inclines his head to her reply about Baldwin and her rection to his offer to escort her home. "Very well then," he says rising from the chair as he shoots her a glance. "I understand you need to rest. I will leave you now, as I have delivered the scroll as I intended. Be well. I will notify you when we have news about when the ship for Two Rivers will take us home." And there, before the Fennim leaves to the door a last bow is offered, even if it is only a hint of such. But given it is offered to a commoner, it may be quite a compliment.
