Summary: Lady Adara follows up on information with Sir Moshe | |||||||
|
Moshe had been busy, very busy with all he has been asked to do and some sleep he has had, it has been about this situation. He sighs and just lets the scrolls sit there, he is almost done but he needs a rest. The room has a view and the cnadle are pleanty to allow good lighting, though he has been at this for hours. So now, he pours himself some wine and stands up, going to the window to look at the gardens. The door would be open, one gaurd standing outside at attention, letting anyone in that has had and appointment of is someone of importance.
Explaining herself to the guard outside the door, then slipping into the office with a smooth, graceful silence is Lady Adara Zorich. She had requested a meeting after all, and whether her entrance is noted or not she clears her throat softly and offers a polite nod to the man found within even has her own bodyguard and a pair of handmaids follows suit. The three take up posts out of the way near the same wall the entrance is found, the guard flanking the door itself. Adara begins with a soft, kind tone, "Thank you for agreeing to speak with me, I have no doubt you are quite busy, given your recent appointment to investigating the tapestry theft. If I may?" gesturing to the nearest available seat she might claim.
Moshe had indeed forgotten of the request and is indeed looking alittle displeased with himself as he stands up straight and bows deeply to Adara. He had known who she was when first the request was sent to him, he did not hetitate. " Lady Adara, oh please, please do sit." as he walks on over, extending hsi hand out to her and guding her to the seat, right across from the desk he is sitting at. The once she is sitting. " Wine?" as he grabs another glass and as he does. " It has been tiring and it has been very long days but the Queen does demand it and I so do it, her will is my command after all." Then he will pours some and hand it to her and if she does not , then he will not. He does take a seat across from her and not across teh desk, rather rude. " Now Lady Anara, how may I be of service to you?"
Adara allows herself to be guided to the seat, then sits like a proper lady and says, "No thank you, though I thank you for the offer. It was actually your investigation I wanted to discuss. As you are working for the Queen on the matter I am here to offer my assistance if you have a need for it. I have no doubt you will use whatever methods you can to obtain what you seek. Forgive me, but you are a knight so more subtle means might not come to mind, especially if you are tired or stressed. If you are having any complications with your investigations I am willing to see what can be found through other means and report back to you. After all I hear you have served my niece quite well."
Moshe looks to the woman as he nods to her words, then he seems to reax a bit, he has a stern face, one that rarely look any other way. " I see. If the Queen has sent you to come and help my Lady Anara , I will not stop you from doing this." then his back straightens and seesm to firm up a bit. " The Queen did task me to do this and I have put my outmost to it Lady Anara. I know I am a simple Knight, one for some odd reason has caught the eye of the Queen to do this, I must be doing something right." though he is tired and he may have over step a bit then but it;s his honor at stake, that means alot to him. " It has been several days and I have uncovered more than just stealing the tapestry." he puases a moment. " Excuse me." as he reaches for his wine and drinks from it. " I heard you had returned as of late Lady Anara, are you alright? How are your daughters? Oh and yes, Our Grace has been kind and I have done my duties to her with outmost perfection or she may not have kept me around."
Adara nods and says, "The Queen hasn't assigned me to help you, it is simply an offer if you wish to accept it. I am versed in more subtle means of gathering information from others. You may accept my offer or not the Queen will not hear of it either way. As to myself and my family, I have been back... I believe a few months now, though my daughters are well enough. I believe they might be a bit resentful as I was away a few years longer then expected, but such things can't be avoided. Especially when a plague is the cause. I believe they will come around though, they are older and I believe they understand." "Taking a breath she adds, "What have you learned so far, if you wish to share such information with me?"
Moshe looks to the woman still and the pleasantries are once again a distraction but not for long by the look of things. As she asks bout the investigation he looks at her, he had seen her around back then, like all others avoided. It takes a bit of time before he speak to her about the investigation. " Well, it has come to my attention that the Priestess of the cult is the one to blame for the theft and not only theft but as well as treason. Seems that out of her own words she was planning to make peace and treaties between us and Two Rivers not possible. She was also trying to break the faith of our people by stealing our precious tapestry. In the end, all evidence points to her and plus after speaking ot her, she said it herself to me."
Adara nods and asks, "Do you know if she managed to have any success with the representatives of the Kingdom of the Two Rivers? It was with them I most recently visited and can attempt to repair things if so."
Moshe frowns a bit and shakes his head. " I do know tha tthe Two Rivers folks were under suspision. I do know that one of their Lords or Duke thrreatend war because of it. That allowed the release of the Healr called Rayne and promp departure of most of their nobles." then thinking a bit more. " I do believe that a Lord Ralph may be still around, negotiating things, perhaps things can be salvaged in a way."
Adara nods and says, "I'll keep my ears and eyes open then. I was informed the priestess was being held in the dungeon and... I believe it was roughly thirty followers were awaiting execution in the amphitheater is that correct?"
Moshe nods and drinks a bit more wine. " Yes, that is true, she is benn held in the dungeon. No one is to see her except me , no exceptions, it is my will." then as he looks outside. " As for the thirty followers, they are caught in the middle, it is their fault for been involved in the cult, letting the priestess do as she pleases. Tis will show justice and perhaps prevent future occurances."
Adara nods and says, "With luck it will make the point clear indeed. I understand there was one you asked for, an... Avy, Aby, something along those lines. Do you believe them to have been involved as well?"
Moshe looks at her and there is a look of soemone that is impressed, more like respect in a way. " Your sources have good ears and at least good information." he grins slightly as he drinks a bit more and then nods. " You mean Abi and and the Lord? As for them two, they are either great liars or are indeed faltered to have had a bad hand in life like a few I know." then setting the wine down. " I do not believe they were involved, just perchance they had someone out for revenge to get them. " then thinking further. " Abi is within the castle, a small room with a gaurd ,until my findings have coem to life and then she will be released, to live out a life as a common woman or a whore."
Adara nods and asks, "Would you object to my speaking with them? Perhaps I can confirm your thoughts on the matter, in which case you could release her sooner then planned as you would then be certain they weren't involved. If I happen upon evidence to the contrary then you will have your evidence and further action can be taken."
Moshe looks to the woman, he seems ot be thinking a bit and then frowns. " I can see you want to be involved. I wish I could let you butthe Queen has assinged this to me. If she suspects I have let another interview, I do not know." he thinks a bit and then sighs. " As long as I am near by to listen, I will allow that but not the Lord, he is not to be disturbed no further. We in a understanding Lady Adara?"
Adara says, "As I said I'm more versed in subtlety, I am even on the Queen's Council after all. As to having you there, as long as your presence will not risk them being unwilling to speak freely I see no problem with it. I simply wish to see if I can learn anything you were unable to. Attracting with honey instead of vinegar so to speak. As to the Queen assigning you, this does not require you do everything personally. As long as others are trusted by the Queen and they have the skills to be of potential use to you, why not take advantage of those skills? As I said there is the potential you can gain further proof to your theories or discover evidence that your theories were wrong or discover new things you didn't consider."
Moshe looks to her as he grabs more wine and pours a bit more and tehn takes a drink from it , then sets it down gently. " I have not said no to you seeing them, just teh Lord. Abi and the priestess, I have no problems with but best do it as soon as possible. I have my mind set and if can't be changed by tomorrow, I will be discussing the results with the High Onis Noria. She will take my word once I explain my findings and she will pass on judgment. So by tomorrow, I need results different than I hold, if not the priestess dies and a third of the thirty."
Adara waves dismissively, "I have no care about the priestess, by the sounds of it there is no reason to doubt her guilt, and even if I could find out more guilt the matter is moot as guilt is already present. I speak of Abi primarily. I would prefer Lord as well, though if there is no reason to question him about the tapestry theft, then there is no point in pursuing the matter of the theft with him further."
Moshe nods than, his eyes on her and then drinks a bit more as she waves the priestess of with but a flick of a wrist. " Why Abi, what has got you so interested in this Abi, there must be something else your looking into." he eyes her then, drinking a bit more wine.
Adara nods and says, "You are smarter then some might think. Mostly I wish to confirm you views that she is not connected to the theft, though there is another matter aside from the theft I wish to investigate as part of my duties to the Queen. Another reason I'd rather speak with her in private given its not related to the tapestry."
Moshe looks at her fro a bit longer, he has been doing alot of staring but what does one do when they are having a conversation and they are the only two present. Taking a bit more drink, he does tilt his head to the side some. " I see, what if I help you as well, seeming we may have something else to worry about now. I mean, I will listen, see what you come up with and if I find it necessary to speak to the Lord again for what ever reason is needed, then you can see the benfit of having me there. I will not say much, just introduce you to her and then stand back, I have not given her no reason to distrust me."
Adara nods and says, "Reasonable enough, though if the topic shifts to something unrelated to your duties then I reserve the right to ask that you leave. Is that acceptable? You have been authorized to investigate the theft after all. If I find I have need of a knight in my own investigations I will certainly consider asking for your aid."
Moshe listesn to the words and then promply nods to her. " That Lady Adara, is a reasonable request. I am obigated to finsih thsi investigations and heads will roll for this incident. Though if you require me as help in any time. I suggest asking our Duchess, since she owns me in every way posible, I am her personal knight."
Adara nods and says, "I am aware you serve my niece as a personal bodyguard, if i have the need I would certainly request her leave. Simply inform me of a good time to speak with Abi, whether you are there or not and I will speak with her on my own matters, and if you are present matters concerning the theft as well. Unless you feel I can be trusted questioning her on the theft as well without you present, in which case I will simply report back to you on what I learn about the theft, if there is anything to report at all on that matter."
Moshe looks at her and then shakes his head. " Oh no, you can't speak to her without my presence the first time. If I find that it may lead to somethign unrelated to thsi investigation, then I will vacate the premisses. After we can talk and discuss and maybe then I may allow you to continue to see Abi. That is the only way they are going to be be done Lady Adara. In this matter, my word is the Queens."
Adara nods and says, "Very well, send word as to a good time to speak with her then and I will do what I can to address the matter then."
Moshe nods to Adara and then drinks the rest of his wine. He looks at her for a bit and then nods. " Alright, if that is your wish, then once I am able, I will send word. Thank you for the pleasant conversation. I rather enjoyed the pleasantries Lady Adara."
Adara smiles softly and says, "Pleasant conversation is always welcome. Especially when it involves one who has proven they are worth the time." as she stands and sweeps her gown to remove any wrinkles and says, "If there is nothing further I'll leave you to your duties."
Moshe stands up as well and gives a deep bow to her in respect. Then as she stands and straightens. " Thank you, such words mean alot Lady Adara. If I may say, you have not changed one bit since I remember you, your pleasant smile has not changed one bit." as he will escort her to the door, it's the least I can do.
Adara smiles a bit brighter and says, "Thank you." then nods and says, "Until we see each other again Sir Moshe." as she turns and begins to exit the office in a smooth, silent fashion.
